FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KOCH EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION ROSTER
WITH NEW LABEL SIGNINGS

(Port Washington, New York) August 16, 2005 – KOCH Entertainment Distribution is pleased to announce that it has signed three separate and exclusive distribution deals with M.C. Records, Wax Orchard and Uncivilized World Entertainment.  KOCH will exclusively distribute all catalog and forthcoming releases for all these labels in North America.

“We’re very excited to welcome M.C. Records, Wax Orchard and Uncivilized World Entertainment to our family of distributed labels,” comments Michael Rosenberg, President of KOCH Entertainment Distribution. “These new and established labels make a wonderful addition to our existing roster of diverse labels.”

M.C. Records was founded in 1996 by music producer Mark Carpentieri upon releasing its first nationally and internationally distributed recording by Big Jack Johnson & The Oiler’s “We Got To Stop This Killin’”. Since then the label has released 21 recordings and has received over 25 W.C. Handy Award nominations and four Grammy Award nominations. Forthcoming releases via KOCH begin in September with Angela Strehli’s “Blue Highway” featuring Marcia Ball, Maria Muldaur, Paul Thorn and Stevie Ray Vaughan. October will see the release of folk/blues legend Odetta’s first holiday recording in over 40 years, “Gonna Let It Shine” with special guest the Holmes Brothers. M.C. Records best-selling titles include R.L. Burnside’s “Acoustic Stories”, Kim Wilson’s (The Fabulous Thunderbirds) solo recordings, and two Odetta recordings. M.C. Records is based in Northport, New York.

“I’m very excited to be with a distributor that handles many successful labels that I admire,” says Mark Carpentieri, President of M.C. Records.

Wax Orchard, a new Seattle label, brings a breath of fresh air to the industry by providing an honest, open alternative. The label is a partnership between Vent Studios, a recording studio, and Static Factory, a full service design and marketing company. The label’s first national release “Crawl”, by Seattle-based rock band Pistol Star, is set to be released via KOCH on September 6, 2005.

"Independent labels are thriving thanks to rapid changes in technology, and it isn't all happening online either.  KOCH Entertainment Distribution is providing us with the foundation we need to deliver on our promise to our artists - efficient and profitable retail distribution at indie sales levels with the reach of a major,” says Daniel Gould, President of Wax Orchard.

Uncivilized World Entertainment is a France-based label founded in 2000 by Arnaud Frisch and Antoine Caudron. In June 2005, the label opened a subsidiary based in New York. UWE New York Ltd is very proud to have signed a distribution deal with KOCH Entertainment Distribution for the USA and Canada. The label’s first two releases via KOCH Entertainment Distribution are scheduled for October 4th: the CD Book “Another World Is Possible” (featuring Moby, Massive Attack, Grandaddy...) and the documentary film “World Traveler Adventures” about the rave phenomenon.

“After 6 years of activity, we are very excited and very proud to start developing our projects in North America with the best independent distribution company,” says Arnaud Frisch, CEO and founder of UWE New York Ltd and UWE France.

KOCH Entertainment is the leading and fastest-growing independent music and video company in the U.S. and its operations encompass record and video labels and distribution companies in the U.S. and Canada. KOCH Entertainment is the market leader among independents in both the U.S. and Canada and its record labels had the largest number of Billboard charting albums among independents in 2003/2004.
